This four-hour workshop is designed to address the growing need for AMIA members, particularly clinicians, to acquire fundamental knowledge and skills surrounding the principles of visual analytics. The workshop is endorsed by the Visual Analytics Working Group (VIS-WG), aiming to provide participants in the Amplified Informatics Conference with hands-on experience on data visualization and teach them visualization principles from the ground up. The speakers are experienced in healthcare data visualization and will guide the participants through the proposed activities. Using pre-selected healthcare datasets, the participants will learn to create low-fidelity wireframes in teams and using generative AI techniques and then to compare and contrast the products using the visualization principles. The workshop will conclude with resources curated by VIS-WG, open discussions, and an opportunity for the participants to provide feedback.
