Abstract Keywords: Artificial Intelligence, Omics (genomics, metabolomics, proteomics, transcriptomics, etc.) and Integrative Analyses, Bioinformatics, Drug Discoveries, Repurposing, and Side-effect, Quantitative Methods, Systems Biology, Precision Medicine, Deep Learning
Primary Track: Foundations
Programmatic Theme: Translational Bioinformatics
This Featured Research Session aims to be a comprehensive, authoritative, critical, and accessible review and discussion of general interest to the gene discovery and personalized drug development community concerning use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) tools for Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and AD-related dementia (ADRD). Emerging questions include what is achievable with AI in this domain and what will the impact be, what does AI/ML embrace and how can we, as neurologists, geneticists, and computational scientists contribute to accelerate making needed new biomarkers and drugs available to patients. This session presented by a diverse group will introduce how AI/ML tools can be important for emerging Alzheimer’s biomarker discovery and drug development. We will discuss how AI/ML initiative can unite the diverse aspects of translational medicine and provide a platform for advancing AI and diverse genetic profiles for emerging development of precision medicine in AD/ADRD.
