Artificial intelligence (AI) holds tremendous potential to transform healthcare by improving diagnostics, personalizing patient care, and optimizing clinical workflows. However, significant barriers—including trust, explainability, ethical concerns, and equitable deployment—limit widespread adoption. Addressing these challenges necessitates interdisciplinary collaboration between human-computer interaction (HCI), biomedical informatics, and clinical disciplines. The Workshop on Interactive Systems in Healthcare (WISH) at AMIA 2025 aims to facilitate these collaborations by bringing together researchers, clinicians, designers, and technologists. Through presentations, interactive panels, and mentorship sessions, WISH will explore participatory design methodologies, context-aware and equitable AI deployment, and evaluation frameworks for real-world healthcare settings. The workshop will foster cross-disciplinary dialogue and contribute to the establishment of methodological standards, strategic partnerships, and mentorship initiatives, ultimately advancing human-centered, inclusive AI in healthcare.
