Transforming the EHR with Generative AI: Current Trends and Future Innovations

This session will examine the current and future state of generative AI in the Electronic Health Record from the perspective of early adopters.  We will explore the current state of generative AI applications in Epic systems, evaluate the outcomes of early implementations, and discuss future directions and innovations that promise to revolutionize healthcare data management and clinical decision-making.

Learning Objectives:
1. Understand the Current State of Generative AI in Epic. Attendees will deepen their understanding of the current capabilities of generative AI technology in Epic, including how they enhance data collection, clinical documentation, and patient communications.
2. Examine the Outcomes of Early Implementations of Generative AI in Epic. Attendees will be able to assess the outcomes of early implementations of generative AI in EHR systems, focusing on improvements in efficiency, accuracy, and clinician satisfaction.
3. Explore Future Directions and Innovations in Generative AI for EHR Development. Attendees will explore potential future advancements in generative AI for the EHR, including discrete data capture, advanced chart summarization features, customization opportunities, and expansion of generative AI tools to additional settings of care.
