As the professional home of biomedical health informatics professionals, AMIA (American Medical Informatics Association) is committed to supporting the current and next generation of informaticians. A key aspect for sustaining and growing the field is to create pathway programs to introduce it to the next generation. The AMIA First Look Program was launched in 2017 to meet these needs and will celebrate 10 years of program in 2026 AMIA Annual Symposium. To date, 220 students have benefited from the program across the US as it is offered in conjunction with the AMIA fall symposium. Experts involved with First Look since its inception will share successes, lessons learned, and an interactive discussion to plan the path forward. This panel will be of interest to all symposium attendees and aligns with the conference theme, as informatics workforce is a key component to accelerate learning health systems.
