This panel will highlight real-world outcomes from the implementation of generative AI in the electronic health record (EHR) across diverse health care settings. Todd Craig, MD, Vice President of Clinical Informatics at Mercy, will share evidence from the deployment of an AI scribe for ambient listening and automated documentation, with measurable impacts on physician efficiency and provider experience. Chitra Srinivasan, MD, Director of Acute Care Informatics at Northeast Georgia Health System, will present results from AI-enabled detection and management of incidental lung nodules, including workflow scaling and early evidence of stage shifting in lung cancer diagnosis. Kenrick Cato, RN, PhD, Professor of Informatics at the University of Pennsylvania and Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania, will discuss outcomes from the CONCERN Early Warning System (EWS), which uses AI methods to detect patient deterioration earlier by analyzing nursing documentation patterns. The CONCERN EWS has demonstrated reductions in inpatient mortality, sepsis risk, and length of stay in a randomized trial, while supporting timely ICU transfers.

The session will conclude with reflections from Corey Miller, software developer at Epic, who will connect these outcome-focused presentations to ongoing development efforts and discuss future directions for generative AI in the EHR. By bringing together physician, nursing, and technical perspectives, this panel provides a clear view of how AI is delivering measurable value in clinical practice today.
