Presentation Time: 09:45 AM - 11:00 AM
Abstract Keywords: Global Health, Artificial Intelligence, Environmental Health and Climate Informatics, Health Equity
Working Group: Global Health Informatics Working Group
Primary Track: Applications
Programmatic Theme: Public Health Informatics
Global health informatics (GHI) leverages technologies such as e-Health, mHealth, and telehealth to improve healthcare access in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). The rapid growth of AI and machine learning (ML) in GHI research has the potential to address healthcare challenges in resource-limited settings, but issues such as technology access, workforce capacity, and ethical deployment remain. This panel of experts will share their experiences in developing AI/ML-driven informatics solutions and challenges and solutions to AI deployment from an environmental sustainability perspective. Attendees will gain insights into the challenges of AI deployment in LMICs, innovative solutions, and best practices for selecting appropriate technologies and methodologies.
